Hello everybody,
Andy is here with another one of his perverted stories :-) You surely guessed correctly - I was at yet another show recently (probably the last one for some time now :-( ) We had a pretty cool line-up playing, namely: SANCTORUM, SOMNUS, FROM THE DEPTHS, EPOCH OF UNLIGHT, MONSTROSITY, DIMMU BORGIR and SAMAEL. Unfortunately Shurik (I hope the majority of you remember this crazy deviant) could not go with me this time (this is completely irresponsible behavior in my opinion) and Vica did not want to (this is probably understandable, but still sucks!) so I had to take my cousin with me, because going by yourself to the metal show is one of the worst things in the world. He came with me only to try something new and did not really like what he saw, he said it was not his cup of tea (what the hell is wrong with him? He listens to SOUL COUGHING instead!!!). Thus I can not really say that I fully enjoyed the show.

All 3 local bands played very good, I just can not get enough of these guys! By the way, FROM THE DEPTHS have a new CD out, it is called 'ELYSIUM' and it's on Nightfall Terrorizer Records. The music itself is very good (as usual), but the inside part of booklet leaves a whole lot to be desired - the guy who sold me the disc said it was Label's fuck up all the way. EPOCH OF UNLIGHT played very fast and very uninteresting - this is one of the few bands on THE END RECORDS which I don't really like, and their live performance did not make me a fan either. I don't know if their brand of black/death metal is very technical or not (and it does not really concern me), but what I know for sure is that their music is not catchy and very forgettable. It is no wonder that crowd response to their music was practically nonexistent. MONSTROSITY without any doubt was the worst
band of the night with their generic death metal (they are from Florida - you get it?) a-la CANNIBAL CORPSE, IMMOLATION or probably someone else (I am not very big in this kind of music, so pardon my French). By the way, their sound was terrible too, just waves of some unclear noise. The interesting fact, however, is that they really got crowd going, ha-ha!

Dimmu Borgir circa 1997

Hello, my dear Americans! Finally, after some long preparations (and I wonder why, and I wonder why) DIMMU BORGIR played very good and professional but not a very long set. They played songs from only their last two full-lenghts and it was cool, but I wish they sacrificed one of the newer songs in order to play 'STORMBLAST'. Actually, a lot of people requested them to play this glorious song, but as they were down to only one more composition in the end of the show and crowd's opinions were divided between 'STORMBLAST' and 'MOURNING PALACE', it became obvious that we would spend that night STORMBLASTless :-) Unfortunately, personally for me, their performance was clouded by several ugly mosh-pitting assholes who seemingly tried to hurt people on purpose so the bouncers had to step up a little bit and cool them off (with words exclusively, though). We did not manage to see SAMAEL because motherfuckers (club management that is) started show around 75 minutes late and thus DIMMU only finished to play at 1.30. We figured out SAMAEL was not worth staying in the fucking club till 3.00 and left.

Regards, Andy.
